About Me

 My name is Heather Weis, and I am the creator of Wild Wonder Nature School. Wild Wonder was born out of my efforts to keep my children engaged and learning through the pandemic.  My children struggled with online learning, and we needed to find meaningful ways to fill our days. We did this by spending time in nature -- hiking and creek play were favorites for my girls. 

When my oldest returned to her in-person Montessori school, I homeschooled my pre-schooler. We read so many wonderful books over the course of our year that I wanted to share with others. I used those books and our time spent at the local Metroparks to develop this program. It's a healthy mix of interesting topics and child-led learning, and I am so excited to share it with you!

Before staying home with my children, I earned a B.A. in English, Summa Cum Laude. I then taught English, grades 7, 9, and 11, at The Classical Learning Resource Center. In addition to teaching, I developed the CLRC's English curriculum and facilitated their online learning platform.
